Federal Chancellor Nehammer visits Rhomberg Sersa

Federal Chancellor Nehammer visits Rhomberg Sersa

Austria's head of government informs himself in Copenhagen about technological innovations and sustainable mobility solutions of the domestic economy.

Bregenz/Zurich/Copenhagen, April 3, 2023. The Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group (RSRG) is currently active in a major Copenhagen project: Together with its Portuguese joint venture partner Efacec, the Group is responsible for the entire railroad engineering equipment of a new metro line.  Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer took advantage of his trip to Scandinavia to personally get a picture of Austria's involvement on site.

Garry Thür, CTO of RSRG, received Nehammer and his delegation together with other executives of the group and representatives of the customer Metroselskabet & Hovedstadens Letbane (MS). "We were pleased that Mr. Nehammer took an hour and a half to visit our challenging project in Copenhagen," reports Thür. "He was very interested in our technological innovations and also announced another visit to our major project, the Koralm Tunnel, which we are currently equipping with railroad technology together with Porr." Mr. Thür was particularly pleased that "Mr. Nehammer is very interested in how sustainable mobility solutions are being implemented by Rhomberg Sersa in both the international and Austrian context." In addition, the RSRG CTO referred to Rhomberg Sersa's international and multicultural project team, "which has an excellent partnership relationship with our customer MS, which was also particularly mentioned by the responsible MS Executive Director Erik Skotting."

The project in Copenhagen includes the installation of a total of 9.4 kilometers of ballastless track in two tunnel tubes and five railroad stations, the traction power supply and the necessary communication technology for driverless operation of the new railroad line. The project will be handed over to the operating company by the end of September 2023, which will then carry out final tests and commissioning.
